Unconscious Flow

“Until you make the unconscious conscious, it will direct your life and you
will call it fate.” Carl G. Jung

My name is Alessandra Anna Maria Toni, and I am an Italian psychologist, a psychotherapist in training with a post-Freudian psychodynamic approach, and a mental trainer, based in Vienna. I am driven by a passion for exploring the depths of the human mind and its connections to emotions, creativity, and relationships.

Having experienced firsthand the challenges of relocating abroad, I understand how difficult it can be to adjust to a new culture, navigate identity shifts, and manage feelings of isolation. This personal experience allows me to connect with those who are going through similar transitions, providing them with a space where they feel heard and supported. In addition to my work with expats, I have a strong connection to the world of music. As a pianist and composer, I am familiar with the pressures that musicians face, especially in performance settings, and I help artists overcome anxiety, creative blocks, and stress related to their careers.

My background combines psychology, neuroscience, and the arts. I initially pursued a Ph.D. in foreign languages at the Catholic University of Sacred Heart in Milan, where I explored human narratives across cultures. My interest in the unconscious and emotional processes led me to earn a master’s degree in psychology with a specialization in neurosciences. Today, I am continuing my training in psychotherapy at the International School of Specialization with the Imaginative Procedure (SISPI) in Milan. This multidisciplinary perspective allows me to understand human experiences from multiple angles, integrating science and creativity in my therapeutic approach.

In my practice, I focus on empathetic listening and the uniqueness of each individual. Inspired by post-Freudian theories, I work with unconscious dynamics that shape choices, behaviors, and relationships. I believe that therapy is a transformative journey where individuals can discover inner resources, gain clarity, and foster meaningful change in their lives. My areas of expertise include stress and anxiety, relationship and sexual difficulties, self-esteem issues, trauma, expat-related struggles, and music performance coaching. My goal is to help clients navigate these challenges with greater confidence and resilience.

I offer psychological support and both in person and online, making it accessible no matter where my clients are. Sessions can be conducted in Italian, English, or German, ensuring that language is never a barrier to seeking help.
